SEVERN TRENT WATERAID BALL ON BROADWAY 2018
I've been lucky enough to create the event materials for two Severn Trent WaterAid charity balls. The 2018 theme was the golden age of Broadway.
With each of the balls I've worked on, the logo always comes first. In my initial designs I went for a mix of classic and contemporary designs, but I think we chose the right one. The final logo uses a 20s/30s style font with big, bold lines and some additional flourishes.
Once the final logo was chosen, it allowed me to work on the rest of the designs. I knew I wanted to carry on the art deco style so I decided on a golden frame for the cover designs. Each one was drawn from scratch (apart from one element that I carried through each of the designs) so that no two materials would look the same. I also wanted the materials to have a sense of luxury which was achieved using leather textures throughout.
Always good fun to work on projects like this, and this year my designs went on to help raise over £250,000 for WaterAid.
